gripping slips as apples juice

whipping lips & paratroops

ankles eye the phantom train

pantomimes & flannel suits


bubbles bob as buzzards swoop

pigeon piss & rotten fruits

singing songs of puddle brains

headless newts & chocolate mousse


salad tongues as hula hoops

twiddled toes & lunar loops

drizzles on the riddled lane

mistletoe & prostitutes


pickle sticks as cauldrons soup

sunken suns & golden flutes

letters stem the daisy chain

muffles in me muddled boots

waspish hordes & locust keeepers

knelling bells & helterskelters

pheasant frowns & melting welders

rivers drown the fire eaters


alley cats & cobble cheetahs

jellied legs & wobbled features

flops in frocks & hit the shelter

gravy stains this fading easter


icicles & flaming fevers

bicycles & wailing creatures

lemon pips & citrus swelters

the fields have fledged - their crops have flown

& hog's the hedge as feet they roam

the barns are calm & lofts are hay

as trees they swirl & fade to crone


the hills seem green - the mares are roan

& hares they snore as spores are sewn

the dogs are frogs - the cats are strays

as clouds they shroud & mouths they foam


the ponds are splosh if rocks are thrown

& bird's the blur as earth's the tone

the doves are rooks or so folk say

as wraiths they stir & ghosts they groan


the land is sleep - the stones are bones

& nights they creep to fight the gloam

the plod is fog in socks of grey

as songs are sung & winds are blown

ram the speak of trampled trails in flopping flocks of one

span the bleak of amber ales in spattered spits of songs

steam the train of rusty rails in signet rings of swan

huff the chuff of gusty gales & gander geese the gone


bang the pang of rusty nails in pastures of the wise

slang the damn of sliding scales in fractures of the skies

twirl the whirl of curly kale in wrinkles of an eye

ride the slime of racing snails & briefly pause for pie


seek the throngs of burning bales in raging fogs of yon

beak the gongs of quirky quails in piffle pecks of bong

spook the toes of ghostly tales in tickled ticks of wrong

scold the holes in buckets pale & fuck it - stroll some on


tread the troughs of peakland dales in sunken plods of high

head the flight of soaring whales in puzzled thoughts of why

flap the vast of vacant vales in quaking shapes of rise

live your life like sofa sales & never then you'll die
