& the bathtub ran ( nar buthab eht & )
…
swans upon a song
howled the bowels of avalon
squirms within a can
purred a cataract
in the daze of doggerland
as the bakers flan
candlemakers waxed
warbles caught a caterwaul
adders hatched a plan
annals scribbled then
tacitus & lazarus
resurrected pan
as the kitchen sank
under poet pissing pots
& the bathtub ran
so the onions sprang
badgers blathered nuts in may
– spanners snaketh man

( author notes )
people often say – that the only fruit that is an anagram of the lemon is the melon
but on my home planet there’s the elomn – which is a bit like a gooseberry – crossed with a banana
then, of course – there’s the nemlo – which is a sort of spikeless pineapple meets lychee meets damson
& last but not least
there’s the molen – which is basically a turquoise pear – but it tastes just like chicken shit

earthlings can be so fruit-racist sometimes
i hope they cancel this ignorant little backwater of a planet soon

divide & spool ( loops & edivid )
…
phantom wars & normalzzz falls
with chatter, cracks & clashes
palaces are standing tall
& kings are chinking glasses
television spins a spell
as bright’s the light of gasses
weasels weave behind the schemes
& lightning strikes the ashes
cancel girls & soy the boys
alas the lads are lasses
shun the sun & hide a lie
until the cycle passes
papers push the buttoned brains
as bankers wipe their asses
scatter like the human trace
divide & spool the masses

2 gnivom ( moving 2 )
…
fingers, thumbs
tumbleweed tongues
kitchen sinks
rising like suns
houses, flats,
rabbits in hats
flashing past
faster than taps
cheetahs, snails
sinking ship sail’s
trains & planes
silverfish tale’s
starlings, cars
pillars & posts
blinking eyes
glimpses of ghosts
marbles, scrawls
curtains & calls
tigers, tanks
lightning strikes – balls
breezes, fleas
boxes of frogs
sneezes, trees
bobbing with dogs
mountains, peaks
rivers & creaks
hinges sing
runner beans speak
pheasants, fowls
consonants, vowels
pellets, owls
pudding & bowels
( keep up )

another bloody sun poem
…
sun with the wolves
sunning up that hill
as the river suns
in the month of sun daze
sun like a rabbit
jumping the sun
sun with the cheetah
be sun the wiser
sun in the family
’til the deed is sun
still waters sun deep
when all’s said & sun
so stick to your suns
& sun a tight ship
sun of the above
glow all suns blazing

june is blue
…
witches whisper in the head
kiss the dawn as spring is dead
summers tongue is licking lead
all is balls & that-err-way
wizards wisp, the rivers glow
fingers slip in blossom’s snow
winter lives – so circle crow
adders laugh as branches sway
breezes wheeze as brambles tear
rabbits jack the jumble’s hare
thunder mumbles spin the air
badgers dance a cabaret
scribble eye with squiggled ink
rising as the kitchens sink
sleep is speaking – hatch a wink
scratch a star & lark the day
puddles splash from passing cars
clasp y’ phantom handlebars
still the birds & trar-luh-lars
bursts beyond the thirsts of may
jig within the gargle’s green
gasping as the gardens bean
shifting shafts of in between
june is blue & shapes of grey
…

dog star, dog star

bob on ( no bob )
…
spectred headless horseman
trot a haunted moor
swans upon a duck pond
sylph the mists of spring
drifting bits of branches
float atop the ocean
bees within a wonky breeze
weaving of an eve
swirling with the dervish
spinning on a shilling
sunken suns a’dawning
balls & all is yawning
i upon a snaking lane
songs within my pockets
like a dog upon a seesaw
nodding with your uncle

another bloody late may list poem ( meop tsil yam etal yfoolb rehtona )
…
shoelaces untied
goosegrass rashes
two blue unicorns
spotted on this morning’s walk
ladybirds & maidenflies
snapdragon crackles
pollen on a sneezing breeze
ants in the pants
of the dozing dog roses
hedgehogs & hemlock
foxtrotting foxgloves
pan’s on the catnip
packed are the parklands
– bloody part timers
swimming shorts – under shorts
almond milk in the fridge
…
( author notes )
anyone who says that lists aren’t poems
is a bullshitting fuckwit
& an ignorant cock rash
–
lists have been part of poetry since at least
the catalogue of ships
in the iliad
–
so blame homer
& piss off
