a different toothpaste

~

a different toothpaste ( a poem )

ants in pants & phantoms three

jacobites & raspberries

aunties stuck down lead mine shafts

cowpats, hats & bramble trees

plastic maps & galaxies

huguenots & blackberries

westward ho! for stomach ache

nettle stings & fallacies

thoughts of socks & saxony

hoses trot to canterbury

lizards sing for liquorice

post-it notes & tapestries

random scraps of sanity

hedges, bets & strategies

puddles of a muddled kind

rainy daze & rhapsodies

...

oh, scarecrows

~

oh, scarecrows ( 12 lines of amateur scrawl )

summer's snowmen, winter's patches

either mixes - neither matches

secret blinkers, sea-deep thinkers

staring scary - hairy thatches

pumkin bumpkins, rustic people

sometimes charming - mainly evil

herring red ploys, cheeky decoys

'neath a broad sky - life is peaceful

timeless styling, sleepy shirkers

muddy buggers, crop preservers

silent sentries, time aplenty

bird disturbers - stop the murder

...

toast etc.

~

toast etc. ( a poem for peas throughout the world … )

the toast is well

the well is a wish

the wish is bone

the bone is a fish

the fish is gold

the gold is a pot

the pot is luck

a dead lucky shot

the shot is glass

the glass is an eye

the eye is blue

in fact it's the sky

the sky is pie

the pie is a hole

the hole is mouse

it's a mousy mole

the mole is leak

the leak is a spring

the spring's onion

the onion's a ring

the ring is hum

the hum is a drum

so on we march

buh-duh-duh-dum-dum

the dum is smart

the smart is a phone

the phone's a book

to worm's it's a home

the home is haunt

the haunt is a ghost

alive & well

but this poem's toast

...

going out

~

going out ( this poem contains roughly 13% of your r.d.a of shite )

take your key

in case clay pigeons sing

take your phone

in case the onions ring

take some cash

to barter with the sheep

grab a nap

in case there's time for sleep

don a smile

there may be acid rain

& odd socks

no, never two the same

wear good boots

no, not the naughty pair

cross your toes

then go, out there - take care

...
