& a garden gnome

sweat with chicken legs

pegging far from home


eating custard creams

in a mongol yurt

with a bewick's swan

sherbert for dessert


singing kate bush hits

running up that hill

shed banana skins

tripping jack & jill


cladding pyramids

spool an afternoon

soffiting on mars

strimming on the moon


scribble paper plane

pen the umbra's map

swim the waking's daze

catching scraps - of nap

cool the school as a cat

power naps powder keg


dog the woods - woof a bass

weaving wool, pull a face

spicing life, grinding mace

scrawling balls - nut the meg


shave the apes shaking clubs

pull the plugged bathing tubs

headless kings, snakes in pubs

normalzzz falls - scrambled smeg


mumble us, jungles bee

kitchen sinks bumble we

jumping jack jumbled free

cracking on planet egg

floating o'clock


clover & over

the ghost of october


ten past orb

'til the figment of six


shapes in the shade

of whitsun's apparition


pens scribble then

& hand tap backs


stones tape so

mumbles of umbra


two twenty spook

quarter to revenant


bright white poltergeists

dancing in the april wraith

as aurora yawns


so a cockerel crows

draining brains in bursts of bird

as the blither flows


while a spider spins

silken webs within the head

stringing hymns in tins


wriggle scribbled squirms

prancing pants of pastoral

ants & earthen worms


as a phantom hare

in the twists of mizzled mist

spins this sylphid air


scattered scraps of dreams

passengers on paper planes

baked but magic beans

      spot the cow upon the brow's

         brighten rise - a spanner falls

serpents stir a steaming mug

speckles spreading buttercups

chasing greys in gladed halls

      sparking lark & pecking hens

      so a pickled poet pens

      scrawling 'til

the curtain crawls
