stumble on a woodland path

brambles jangle keys


risk the gaps of tracks

biscuit on a broken road

gaping pavement cracks


can, canals & locks

worms within a squirming tin

or pandora's box


chatters flapping wings

scribble on a paper pad

saturn's spinning rings


squall is balls again

sowing seeds of sesame

letters in a chain


seasons squeak in codes

warble doors & hinges swing

springing open odes

marble mars, saturn spins

needles weave, tapestries


spilling ink, egrets dip

feathered tips, water wings


pencil then, swans upon

estuaries, egging legs


mustard cress, crested newts

bursting blue, newish shoes


piffle pen, polka dots

chickenpox, spotted cows


seek the sound, roudabouts

underground, snorkelling


doves above, branches bat

bakers roll, inner-hills


kiss the fist, pigeon spit

swim within, mutant ooze


shake a fist, stir a bear

rabbit on, spur the hare


croaking odes, blossom hops

labyrinths, balls of string


history, histamine

seven seas, factor three


lemon trees, thermal vest

odd 'n' pods, peas 'n' queues


nodding dogs, hyacinth

mackerel sprats, hieroglyphs


purple path, further blurs

scrying eyes, scrawling spring


fingers slip, flutter dust

butter beans, buttercups


spilling this - vernal verse

seeking green, warning yous

roam in the gloaming's sliding scale

a sting in the tip of winter's tail


a crocus of frogs, the boxing hare

a cross on a map, the what's of where


a mumble of bees, a tongue of twist

a serpent of stirs, the ticks of list


a tocking of clocks & sup of tea

a beast from the east - a storming sea


the wet of the west, the north of south

the spittle of spin, a frothing mouth


a bubble of burst, the birding ode
