titters of slippage & slippery traps

ripples of rivets & gristly grass

crackles of castles & splintery trees

ambles in brambles they tangle my knees


whistles of whispers & fishery flaps

tinkles of sprinkles & fidgety bats

pistols of pickles & prickly seas

thistles & crystals they christen the breeze


blisters of missives & mystery naps

nipples of quibbles & canopy thatch

wobbles of nobbles & novelty skis

mumbles in jungles they jumble my sneeze


dribbles of riddles & drizzly rats

trickles of fickle & fiddly facts

dwindles of spindles & shimmery keys

fragments of tangents they glisten to me

snot in the coffee & tea in the tree

feet on the oche & sneeze on the breeze

toes on the elbows

& crows in the know

cheese in the ballads & hoes in the heave


knots in the vest strings & wasps in the loft

whats in the questing & dross in the gloss

mopes in the earlobes

& glow in the flow

pants in the pantry & jack in the frost


squats in the quandary & hot in the freeze

blots on the fondly & bees in the wheeze

though in the stone's throw

& foes in the fro

knees in the nobbles & quiche in the keys


plots in the vestry & spots in the dots

rot in the zesty & shocks in the watts

shows in the panto

& boats in the row

seas in the salad & tongues in the toss

shetland pony hand grenade

trashy crash land cavalcade

moorland mermaid marmalade


flipping mudflap shoulder blade

ratatouille ricocheted

pensive centaur centigrade

slapdash sabbath lemonade

labyrinthine hearing aid

otter toss pots renegades

anger ankle accolades


sapping smudge splat barricade

sempiternal masquerade

every morn like bran flakes

fruit medjool me mandates

storming nomad notepads

tossing forth the throwbacks

quartz, blue john & topaz

choppy hoppy scented

heaven sense fermented

pale ale wails infested

down it quick


singing kitchens sinking

flapping caps are thinking

keen green eyes are squinting

the river blooms & mushrooms on

the clouds are shrouds where sun has shone

the branches nod & sprinkle drops

the earth is damp where crops have flopped


the valleys splash & tractors swan

the ducks are grins - the worst has gone

the birds they stir & frogmen hop

the ditches brim - the rain has stopped


the drizzle dawns & piddles on

the here is drips & bits of songs

a midland squelch of soggy socks

in need of keys for rusting locks

there's gathered nuts & misty yawns

there's staggered ruts & wispy fawns

the foxes grin

as branches thin

i'm scrambling where fungi spawn


there's bramble bursts & parasols

there's gurning ferns & rabbit holes

the nettles sting

as wood nymphs sing

i'm babbling where badgers stroll


there's soggy moss & liverwort

there's cobweb spin & insects caught

the ivy clings

as squirrels swing

i'm rambling where faeries walk


there's weasel schemes & bumble bees

there's toady stools & humble me

the bluebells ring

through mid-late spring

i'm ambling beneath the trees
