mustard & gravity

mustard & gravity (  s o m e   n o n s e n s e  )

keep it ropy

sore eyed flaky soapy

frog in throaty croaky

whack that down

roman nosy

camels in the gobi

humnpty dumpty floaty

what then now?

telephony

obscured mascarpone

lick me back - i'm toady

owls 'n' vowels

war aint rosy

fire's poky yet cosy

so time for a dozey

( dreams of thou )

...

the head of the hedge

~

the head of the hedge (  p i c  i n s p i r e d  p o e m z  )

dead ahead in the hedge

on a hilltop mid fog

is the head of the hedge

in the realm of its hogs

it's daft art most allege

oft folk say - of some odd

but with all bets hedged

yes, this hedge is a god

( & my master )

...

that’s the badger

~

that’s the badger (  s o m e  v e r s e  )

as toads they crawl

as deer they stagger

& vipers stir

slithers the adder

as jacobs climb

up their stepladders

& crimz strut with

a certain swagger

as flies they hide

from the flycatcher

& fools blather

jibber then jabber

as raptors soar

& squirrels gather

i spot a brock

aye - that's the badger

...

deserters from the circus

~

deserters from the circus (  a  p o e t r y  )

deserters from the circus

sigh - but whither then from there?

perhaps the foreign legion

or we'll hide in woods somewhere?

plus there's always monasteries

for men or bearded ladies

exit now - pursued by clowns

for sanctuary & safety

...

seasonal greetings

~

seasonal greetings (  a  p o e m  )

first comes that spring - the cheeky twat

its rebrands & the same old shat

its bouncing green - that gleaming brat

how do you do

i cock my hat

next summer swells with sweaty days

where nature leads our sense astray

into the glow of ways quite strange

secret handshakes

we ( shush ) exchange

then autumn calls, we briefly hug

as spores burst forth & all that stuff

fleeting - it seems to be enough

yet all must die

so on we trudge

lastly winter, my dear you're here

all the others have disappeared

we whisper waves of withered cheer

'tween precious breaths

then fades the year

...

the man of muddled days

~

the man of muddled days ( a little tale of true for monday ( ? ) )

on a monday he was born

or he so used to say

with his shoes odd on footholds

the man of muddled days

on a wednesday he then wed

yes then said knot he tied

oh how he could that forget?

'twas christmas & july

his wife was wraithly-vaguely

then came children as ghosts

he design made calendars

them bills it seemed paid those

& then one noon at midnight

a funny-turn felt strange

he died knowing truth of days

they're all just made-man names
