eating a tree lunch

tree the light of day
i’ll tree you in the next life
singing tree blind mice

get away scot-tree
& tree the wood for the trees

rainbows stuck in traffic’s jam

      of next week’s daydream

ants ‘n’ ammonites

cotton socks ‘n’ jacobites

      spring is heeled like jack

      jumping roof to roof

death is television

in the hayloft of the barn

parents spinning back & forth
frequent, these mealtimes

feed ’em earthworms
pellets from an air rifle
small balls of play-doh

marzipan & chips
twitch ’em with binoculars
r.s.p.b this

in an anorak
or a shower proof cagoule
spring is sprung abound

what a vernal sight
under cuckoo clocks in flight
clay pigeons nesting

spin the greening leas
uppercut ‘n’ chin the hills
with a creeping breeze

wellingtons in time

striding like a list
feather quill a better still
sun behind the mist

ticking closer – come
rocking chair a boxing hare
as the buzzards hum

& a springing lamb is sprang
as the catkins purr
