a memory down trip lane

~

a memory down trip lane ( enal pirt nwod yromem a )

i recall the fall

in my geriatric armchair

      slurping lucozade

      in a crystal cognac glass

stroking my cravat

as if it were a cat

      back between naps

      scratching the annals –

once upon the cobbles

a wobble followed through

      a trip of a slip

      on rain-glazed stone

so the stormy glows

like the embers of remember

      misted like a morning

on a meadow by a river

went the then of me

soaring in the air

      high on banana skins

      & nuerofen plus

flying like a fish

arse over elbows

      stumble up & gone

      crashing with aplomb
