thorntree lane

thorntree lane ( a brief poem )

i thought of you on thorntree lane

there was nought in the way of rain

the sky was dry - unstirred the drains

no ghost emerged

on thorntree lane

there are no trees on thorntree lane

not much beyond the shut café

as then 'twas night not t'other - day

no owl did hoot

on thorntree lane

there are no thorns on thorntree lane

this funny name eludes explain

i pause & feel my tickled brain

it thinks of you

oh thorntree lane

...

don’t try to catch a falling star ( 8 lines of health ‘n’ safety )

don't try to catch a falling star

you'll lose your hand perhaps an arm

or leap to kiss you'll lose your face

they aint feathers - they come from space

bits of debris & meteorite

wish from a distance 'pon a night

don't try to catch a falling star

you'll lose your face

perhaps an arm
